Student Research Lightning Talks Fall 2022
Friday, November 18
1:30 PM
WXLR A206

Currently looking for volunteers to present! Are you a Ph.D. candidate, Master's candidate, or Undergrad with a research project that you would like feedback on? Volunteer to present and get customized feedback from fellow students where feedback is based upon what you personally request. If interested email mlmancus@asu.edu and describe your project.

ASU students and faculty of music and mathematics are invited to put their heads together and brainstorm new ways of tuning musical instruments. We will discuss the mathematics of harmony, alternative tuning systems, infinite divisions of the octave, and the farthest reaches of n-dimensional pitch space. Participants will tear down the walls of 12-tone equal temperament and develop techniques for exploring new harmonic architecture. Free and open to the public.
