The Klein bottle and the Möbius band are among the most famous topological objects, yet they still have the power to make us ponder. We will explore their history and uncover some of their hidden aspects, some of which remain little known, even to seasoned mathematicians. If time permits, we will also talk about the extraordinary life and work of the geometer Alicia Boole Stott (1860-1940).
