Many interesting C*-algebras are formed by (partial) actions of a discrete group on a locally compact Hausdorff space. The space is a crucial part of the dynamical system. Remarkably, a semigroup will generate a space on which it acts by partial homeomorphisms. We will describe this process in the important special case of LCM semigroups, and give some examples of the C*-algebras obtained. This talk is a reprise with variations of a talk at GOALS 2021.
